FY 2016 Annual Report - cover

FY 2016 Annual Report – The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc.

Each year I get the opportunity to design the Annual Report for The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. — a nonprofit social enterprise based in Seattle, WA that provides jobs to people with visual disabilities. It’s one of my favorite projects and I really love being able to work monochromatically with a spot color – this year I chose an electric orange Pantone 1505U. Perhaps the inner nerd in me also likes making infographics and charts – I just really liked the big numerics in the stats section. All photos by yours truly except for the second spread, taken by Molly McLachlan.

K-Town Hardcore Fest 2016

This year’s K-Town Hardcore Fest in Copenhagen was a complete blast; so many friends, amazing bands — definitely a highlight of my year! It’s also a great opportunity to get exposed to some incredible up and coming bands from all over the world. I had the pleasure of participating this year with my band Kriminal during the Bike Wars/Punx Picnic (thanks to María Luján for shooting while we played)! Unfortunately I didn’t have the opportunity to shoot every band (also made sure I spent time enjoying watching the show with my eyes as opposed to through my viewfinder), but here’s a selection of those I were able to capture. Also check out this awesome playlist of all the bands!

Lighthouse Annual Report – FY2014

The most recent design piece for The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. — a 24 page annual report to the community featuring accomplishments over the fiscal year. Measures 8.75″ square and printed on uncoated stock. The background texture print is actually the Lighthouse mission rendered in braille and repeated.

Jobs. Independence. Empowerment.

This video follows the stories of three employees of The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. Development and Public Relations Director Shawn Dobbs, Production Worker Michelle Denzer, and CNC Machinist Nathan Greenwood. Entirely shot with a Canon 6D and a Tascam DR-40 audio recorder from December to February of 2015.
