Upcoming Workshops
I will be co-instructing a couple workshop events coming up in the next months; both of which will take place at my co-working space, ESDIP Berlin.

About Yesterday’s Sad Ending
The first time I met Erik Petersen was after an acoustic show he played in Clark Park after a night of Pointless Fest in Philly, on an unbelievably hot August weekend in 2005. I was on tour with my band Countdown to Armageddon, our friends Kakistocracy from Asheville, and Schifosi from Melbourne, and after the gig our friends invited us to join them to watch Erik play. Duesenjaeger music video out now
After several months of work, the music video I filmed and produced for Duesenjaeger for the track “Woanders Mit Dav” is finally complete! The nice folks at GetAddicted.org have premiered the video, along with an interview and a preview stream of their new album Treibsand. Read More

the science of dwindling keys
my friend has this theory about keys:
that if you hold on to them after you relocate to a new place
and they no longer serve their intended use
they will form a vacuum in space
draining and sucking life from everything that surrounds them
into a black spiral of the great nothing
to twist and churn like new molasses
or corroded motor oil rotting in an engine block
a forgotten car carcass on the lawn
a vacuole in a cell that stores no water
caving itself in
R.I.P. – Magic Cliff
I received some disheartening news that Cliff Gustafson passed away this week. If any of you have spent time at the Twilight Exit you may have seen Cliff slamming cards into the ceiling decked out in his signature tux. I had the honor of making a documentary short titled “I’m Here on Wednesdays” with Mary Chakhtoura about Cliff last year, and we hosted a little screening at the Twilight in May while he was performing there. It was our first attempt at making a movie, and he was so awesome and patient in working with us on the project.
Top Ten Playlist for 2015
I can’t believe 2015 is already coming to a close! This year simultaneously feels like it flew by and lasted a decade, with relocating halfway across the world and the immense amount of traveling I’ve done recently. I’ve had quite an ever-changing soundtrack over this time, so without further ado, here’s what’s been blasting my headphones for this year, in no particular order or preference. ::
Filming Complete for Duesenjaeger Video
Over the past month I began filming a music video project for my close friends in Duesenjaeger, an amazing melodic Deutschpunk band from Osnabrück, Germany. I first met the band in 2012 while on tour with my band Countdown to Armageddon, when the two of us played a gig together in Leipzig on a European tour. I was immediately blown away, and we became fast friends over several beers. A couple years later we would collaborate on the Duesenjaeger / Countdown to Armageddon split 7″ [which I did the photography and design for], and we did a mini tour of western and central Germany together to celebrate in 2014.
